Winchester TD Pre-owned 101 XTR Sporter Diamond Grade Over and Under Shotgun - 12 gauge Walnut
Winchester TD Pre-owned 101 XTR Sporter Diamond Grade Over and Under Shotgun - 12 gauge Walnut
Very good overall condition example of the Winchester 101 XTR Sporter Diamond Grade. There are a few cosmetic marks on the stock, particularly on the wooden butt pad, but overall the stock has an attractive grain. The Diamond pattern engraving creates an attractive appearance on the stand. The wide rib and two bead set up makes the sight picture clear and easy to get your head in the right place each time. The reassuring weight in the hand makes the swing smooth and reliable each time. The gun has had an auto safe fitted and despite being multi-choke, it is supplied with one 1/4 and one 1/2 choke.

The Winchester 101 was a very common sight in the shotgun world during its lifetime. The wide range of models and finishes meant that it was an accessible shotgun for a variety of people. The Diamond Grade was made in one of Miroku's factories and has the same reputation for quality and workmanship that all the Japanese shotguns carry.
Pleasingly heavy in the hand, the 101 was originally designed for trap or skeet shooting. The shorter 28" barrels on this shotgun make it so that the swing is smooth and easily controllable, whilst the 14 1/4" stock makes it easier for shorter statured shooters to use comfortably.
For being 40 years old, this shotgun is in very tidy condition overall. The woodwork has a few cosmetic marks, but nothing unexpected for a gun of its age. The most noticeable are on the wooden butt padd and speak more to wear from shouldering than anything else. Mechanically the gun locks up well and the ejectors still have a lot of force behind them.
