Instead of relying on pressure created by flammable powder, CO2 air rifles compress carbon dioxide to force projectiles along the barrel. CO2 powered air rifles are very popular at Allcocks, simply because they offer complete and utter simplicity while in the field.
Carbon dioxide is used as the compound here due to its unique reaction when it is added to a pressurised canister. The CO2 partially liquidises, which means the capsule contains both liquid and gas. When the carrier pulls the trigger, a valve opens on the cylinder, which allows gas to travel into the barrel of the rifle. This sudden drop in pressure forces the projectile down the barrel of the gun.
At Allcocks we stock such a vast range of CO2 air rifles, so you're sure to find the perfect weapon for your next outdoor adventure.
