Pre-charged air rifles utilise compacted air to propel projectiles. The air within the gun’s tank is compressed to about 3000 pounds-per-square-inch by a high-pressure hand pump.
After the trigger is pulled a valve opens and a blast of compressed air is pushed up the barrel with such force that it pushes the projectile out of the barrel. Each time the gun is fired the pressure and force of the air gradually decreases.
The most significant advantage of a pre-charged air rifle is accuracy. Many of our customers come to us at Allcocks looking for a simple firearm that provides unerring accuracy, and we recommend PCP air rifles almost every time.
