One of the worlds most feared and revered rifles; The Lee Enfield No. 1 MK III has seen active service across many continents. This particular model has had its barrel bored-out to become a .410 shotgun. It retains it's detachable magazine and is capable of holding multiple cartridges, so it is still classed as an Section 1, therefore the relevant variation is required on an FAC to own this shotgun.

This shotgun may be converted to a Section 2 for an SGC. The magazine would need to be non-removable and be adapted to ensure the gun cannot exceed a total capacity of 3 rounds. Alternatively it could be converted to a single shot by having  the magazine well completely blanked off.

Alternatively the gun gun could be re-barrelled back into .303. The gun would then need to go to The Proof House. Total cost of these procedures may vary. We would suggest researching thoroughly through your local gunsmith and proof house for costs.

Additional to usual proof marks, other points of interest are stamped on the:

Right side of the stock: M.A. LITHGOW    III* HV   1943   12.47

Right side of the butt socket: R over 3985   M.A. LITHGOW II*   1942

Right side of the firing pin: AO 43

Underside of bolt: R over 3985

The overall condition of this gun is fair and would benefit from some considerate  cosmetic attention.

This gun is missing it's cleaning kit from the stock.
