The combination includes an 8 foot medium action rod paired with a 200 size baitcasting reel, along with additional terminal tackle such as a wire trace and a lure. This type of combo is designed to allow anglers to begin fishing with minimal setup while still having equipment capable of handling stronger fish species and heavier lures.
The rod in this combo measures 8 feet in length and has a casting weight rating of 20 to 60 grams. This casting range makes it suitable for medium to large lures commonly used in predator fishing, including hard lures, metal lures, and larger soft plastics. The medium action allows the rod to bend through part of the blank when under load, providing a balance between sensitivity and power. This helps anglers detect bites while maintaining enough strength to control powerful fish and manage heavier lure weights during casting.
The reel included is a 200 size baitcasting reel with a left-hand retrieve. Baitcasting reels are designed for greater casting precision and control compared with many spinning setups, especially when casting heavier lures. The reel contains four ball bearings, which support smooth gear movement and stable spool rotation. The 7.7:1 gear ratio allows fast line retrieval, meaning the spool rotates 7.7 times with each turn of the handle. This higher gear ratio is useful for techniques that require quicker lure retrieval or rapid line pickup when setting the hook.
The reel comes prefilled with 0.24 mm X4 braided line.
