Bisley Gun Grease is a firearm-specific lubricant used to protect and maintain metal components under pressure and friction. Unlike light gun oils, grease is thicker and designed to stay in place for longer periods, making it ideal for parts that experience repeated movement or high mechanical stress. It helps reduce wear between metal surfaces and provides a protective barrier against moisture and corrosion.

It is commonly applied to areas such as bolt lugs, hinge points on break-action shotguns, slide rails, and other moving contact surfaces. These areas benefit from a more durable lubricant that does not run off easily or evaporate quickly. The grease remains stable under pressure, ensuring consistent lubrication even after repeated firing or extended storage periods.

The formulation is designed to withstand a range of temperatures and conditions typically encountered in field use. It helps prevent rust formation by sealing out moisture while also reducing metal-on-metal friction. This contributes to smoother firearm operation and can extend the lifespan of key mechanical components when used as part of regular maintenance.

In practice, gun grease is used sparingly and applied in small amounts to specific contact points rather than covering large surfaces. Excess grease is usually removed to avoid buildup, which can attract dirt or debris. It is typically used alongside lighter gun oils, which are better suited for internal barrels and general surface wiping.

  • Thick lubricant designed for high-pressure firearm contact points
  • Reduces wear and protects metal parts from friction and corrosion
  • Best used on moving components like hinges, bolt lugs, and slide rails rather than full surfaces
