The Bisley Deluxe 6mm Slip Lead with Rubber Stop (1.2 metres) is a combined lead and collar system used for controlling dogs without needing a separate collar. It is made from a slim but strong rope construction, with a 6mm diameter that gives a balance between comfort in the hand and sufficient strength for handling working or sporting dogs.
The lead is designed to slip over the dog’s head and tighten slightly when tension is applied. A built-in rubber stop allows the user to set a limit on how far the loop tightens, helping prevent it from loosening too much or slipping off unintentionally. A metal slip ring is included to allow smooth movement of the rope when adjusting or guiding the dog.
At 1.2 metres in length, it is relatively short compared to standard walking leads, which makes it more suited to close control situations such as training, heel work, or working dogs in the field. The compact size also means it can be easily carried in a pocket or bag when not in use, making it a convenient backup or quick-use lead.
It is commonly used for gundog work, general training, or situations where quick control is needed. While practical and simple, it relies on correct handling technique, as the slip function means pressure is applied directly to the neck if the dog pulls.
