The Bisley Air Rifle Cleaning Kit is a general-purpose maintenance set designed for routine cleaning of air rifles and air pistols. It is built to handle the two most common airgun calibres, .177 and .22, making it a versatile kit for most users. The set typically comes in a compact storage case and includes a multi-piece cleaning rod that screws together to form a full-length rod suitable for reaching through the barrel.

The kit usually contains bronze wire brushes for scrubbing fouling from the barrel, wool mops for applying oil and finishing the bore, and a jag or pellet remover for clearing obstructions or pushing patches through the barrel. Each calibre has its own dedicated brushes and mops, ensuring a proper fit and more effective cleaning. This helps maintain barrel condition and remove residue from lead pellets and general shooting debris.

In use, the cleaning process usually starts with a brush to loosen fouling, followed by patches or mops to wipe the barrel clean. A light oiling stage is often included to protect the internal surfaces from corrosion during storage. The kit is intended for routine maintenance rather than heavy industrial cleaning, and is particularly useful for keeping accuracy consistent over time.

While simple, it is considered a standard all-in-one solution for airgun owners. It covers the essential tasks needed to maintain performance, prevent buildup, and extend the lifespan of the barrel and internal components. However, experienced users may supplement it with additional solvents or specialised tools depending on the level of cleaning required.

  • Includes rods, bronze brushes, wool mops, and pellet remover for .177 and .22 airguns
  • Designed for routine barrel cleaning, maintenance, and light fouling removal
  • Compact all-in-one kit suitable for air rifles and air pistols, not heavy-duty use
