Good condition Spanish side by side marked as 'The Basque' and recorded as an AYA. In very good mechanical condition, the action is tight and the ejectors work very well. It is fixed choke 1/2 and Full. The stock has had a wooden extension fitted to bring it to a length of 15" 1/2. Beyond the seam for the extension, the woodwork is in good overall condition with only a few cosmetic marks. The blueing has worn slightly on the barrels, but this is only cosmetic.

There are several shotguns stamped as 'The Basque' on the second hand market. These Spanish boxlocks are hard working guns, often with a fair amount of life left in them if they have been well cared for. This example has been well maintained and is still tight in the action. The ejectors and firing pins work well. The stock has been lengthened to 15" 1/2. There has been an attempt at wood matching, but it does have an obvious grain difference. Other than the lengthening piece, there are some cosmetic marks on the wood and the blueing, however this is nothing unexpected for a gun of its age and type.
This is traditionally choked at Full and 1/2, making it suitable for rough or pigeon shooting at slightly longer ranges. The auto-safe functions well.
