Fenix ARE-X2 Charger / Portable Power Bank has two independent microprocessor controlled charging channels, allowing you to charge up to two batteries at the same time, simply plug into your existing mains USB charger (mobile phone charger etc) using the supplied USB lead.
ARE-X2 automatically detects Li-ion, Ni-mH and NiCd type batteries, charges them accordingly and is capable of charging different types and voltages of battery at the same time.
LED indicators for charging / charged status
When charging, the three LED indicators will light to show the charging state:
One flashing, two off: less than 30% power
One constant-on, one flashing, one off: 30%-70% power
Two constant-on, one flashing: 71%-95% power
Three constant on: fully charged
ARE-X2 charges the following batteries:
Li-ion - 26650, 18650, 16340 (RCR123), 14500, 10440
Ni-mH / NiCd - AA, AAA
A USB port allows the use of ARE-X2 as a power bank to charge your electronic devices whilst off the grid (when fitted with Li-ion batteries).
The ARE-X2 will initially select the left channel to provide power for the device to be charged, if the battery inserted is not Li-ion or is below 3.0v it will automatically switch to the right channel. The LED will flash blue until the item is charged or the battery(s) fitted into the ARE-X2 drop to 3.0v.
Please note using 10440, 14500 or 16340 batteries for the power bank function will quickly drain them and the use of 26650 or 18650 batteries is recommended.
When the battery power level is too low to provide power for your external item it will be indicated by a single blue LED remaining constantly on.
Battery Power Indicator
When a battery is inserted, the LED indicator will function for three seconds as a battery power indicator, the current battery state will be displayed through the number of constant-on LED's:
Three constant-on: more than 80%
Two constant-on: 41%-80%
One constant-on: 10%-40%
None on: critical power level
Operating temperature: -20? to 50?
Operating humidity:5% (0?) to 90% (40?)
Storage temperature: -20? to 85?
ARE-X2 also features short circuit protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection and reverse-polarity protection.
